Acorns and Oakleaves is a collection of studies of leaves, branches and acorns of the British Oak tree.
These prints have been created by using hardground over steel or copper plates. The lines are drawn in using an very old dip pen.

Aquatint and burnishing the matrix, gives the subtle shadows and highlights to give the image depth. The plates are inked in intaglio using Intaglio Printmakers shop inks; Burnt Umber with a little Bone Black and printed on paper. The 1st and 2nd were printed onto Hahnemühle 300 gsm etchers paper.

The small 3rd image was etched into copper, printed onto Somerset velvet 280gsm paper in Antique, the ink was mixed with gold and burnt umber.

I am also working on other oakleaves drawings which I have not yet editioned.
