SUMMARY:SMAG Arts - 2024
DESCRIPTION:SMAG Art raises money through commissions on sale of artwork as well as from Artist entry fees and the occasional donation. Almost all funds raised (barring basic expenses incurred to run the non-profit business) are given to local charities in the Greenwich/Blackheath areas. \nSMAG 14\, May/June 2024 Physical Art Exhibition had representation from a record 101 artists displaying 290 pieces of artwork\, attracted 815 visitors and led to the sale of 78 pieces of artwork valued at over £8\,915\, a new high for a SMAG Exhibition. This allowed us to give an all-time record of £4\,500 to charity. \nThe next physical art exhibition from 24th October – 2nd November 2024 at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church\, 1 Pond Road\, Blackheath\, London SE3 9JL.  \n​My Print Apples\, can be found here on the online shop. \nExhibition Dates (Public Viewing Times) \n​ \nThursday\, 24 Oct. SUMMARY:Southbank Printmakers - Mini Print Exhibition 2024
DESCRIPTION:Southbank Printmakers Mini Print Exhibition 2024\n \nMy monoprint; Blue Oyster\, has been selected and is on display and available to purchase via their website (Link in the heading) \nNow in its 5th year\, this ever-popular independent gallery-led show will again be home to a range of exciting mini prints from across the UK and beyond\, giving both professional and amateur printmakers the chance to exhibit\, sell and become known in the gallery and online shop. Artists who are selected to exhibit also have the chance to win prizes offered by the sponsors Jackson’s Art\, Ironbridge Fine Arts and John Purcell Paper. \nThe exhibition will run at the gallery in Gabriel’s Wharf on the Southbank from Tuesday 1 October to Sunday 1 December 2024.  There will be an opening private view and closing awards night. \nExhibition runs from 1st October through until 1st December 2024 \nOnline Exhibition and shop; 1st October until 5th January 2025. SUMMARY:Works on Paper 2024 - The Gallery at Green & Stone\, Chelsea
DESCRIPTION:Works on Paper celebrates emerging artists who have harnessed the versatile medium of paper to craft exceptional and thought-provoking pieces. This exhibition serves as a testament to the enduring power of paper as a canvas for artistic expression. \nAt the end of last year\, I was thrilled to discover that I had had my print Acorns and Oakleaves accepted to hang in a London Gallery. \nI had been trying different papers and found a beautiful textured heavy paper called Somerset and this really brought out the detail of the etching. I etched this image on a piece of very old steel. I used a hardground and had carried it around with me for some time before I realised what I wanted to draw. \nHaving collected some fallen twigs and acorns on a winter walk in a lovely small woodlands in south London\, I brought them home\, laid them out and drew directly into the hardground using an old dipping pen\, inherited from my grandfather\, himself a keen artist. \nThe exhibition opens on Monday 15th January and runs to 8th February 2024 \n\nGreen & Stone take pride in being the first rung on the ladder of success for many artists. The 148 chosen artworks on show are guaranteed to be hugely varied\, unique\, contemporary\, and affordable. \n\nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome. \n  \n
